If you’re like me, then last holiday season you spent a good amount of your competitive multiplayer time on Battlefield 1. The massive shooter seemed to come out of no where and breathed a breath of fresh air in what was becoming a stagnate genre. This fall EA will be rolling out a huge update to keep the fans of more realistic shooters happy.
The new expansion, “In the Name of the Tsar” will stretch the landscape of WWII to a Eastern Europe.
The expansion will include :
8 Maps - 6 New Maps // 2 Night Maps: Nivelle Nights, Prise De Tahure
11 New Russian themed weapons + 3 New Melee Weapons
New Game Mode - "Supply Drop"
New ways to progress your character
Includes Russian Army
Introduces “Women’s Battalion of Death” characters
Here's a gameplay look from IGN's playtest:
Some notable additions to gameplay:
- Beginning sides will state with flag already captured. No more running to base on your side at the beginning of the match.
- Ally and enemy sides will look different from each other in order to help identify which side you are on during battle.
For Example - If you play as the French Army your original starting side will look distinct to your army's base of operations. This doesn’t change during match, but will be easily identified as which territory you are in. This provides a more realistic look and feel to your encounters.
